How to change the default port of http server ( seahub server from port 8000)?

step-1:
Edit “../ccnet/ccnet.conf” file and change the port number to 80 from 8000 and save.

step-2:
Edit “../seafile-server-latest/seahub.sh” file and change the port no. to 80 from 8000 and save.
now restart the seahub services ( “../seafile-server-latest/seahub.sh restart”)

How to reset the admin password ?
Execute “../seafile-server-latest/reset-admin.sh” to change the password

How to replicate MySQL db to a slave server

The MySQL Replication is very useful in terms of Data Security, Fail-over Solution,Database Backup from Slave, Analytics etc. We use the following things to carry the replication process. In your scenario it would be different.

  1. Working Linux OS like CentOS 6.3, RedHat 6.3 or Fedora 17
  2. Master and Slave are CentOS 6.3 Linux Servers.
  3. Master IP Address is: 192.168.1.1.
  4. Slave IP Address is: 192.168.1.2.
  5. Master and Slave are on the same LAN network.
  6. Master and Slave has MySQL version installed.
  7. Master allow remote MySQL connections on port 3306.

We have two servers, one is Master with IP (192.168.1.1) and other is Slave as (192.168.1.2). We have divided the setup process in two phases to make things easier for you, In Phase I we will configure Master server and in Phase II with Slave server. Let’s start the replication setup process.

1. How to set MySQL Root password?

If you have fresh installation of MySQL server, then it doesn’t required any password to connect it as root user. To set MySQL password for root user, use the following command.

# mysqladmin -u root password YOURNEWPASSWORD

2. How to Change MySQL Root password?

If you would like to change or update MySQL root password, then you need to type the following command. For example, say your old password is 123456 and you want to change it with new password say xyz123.

mysqladmin -u root -p123456 password 'xyz123'

How to Backup MySQL Database?

To take a backup of MySQL database or databases, the database must exist in the database server and you must have access to it. The format of the command would be.

# mysqldump -u [username] –p[password] [database_name] > [dump_file.sql]

The parameters of the said command as follows.

  1. [username] : A valid MySQL username.
  2. [password] : A valid MySQL password for the user.
  3. [database_name] : A valid Database name you want to take backup.
  4. [dump_file.sql] : The name of backup dump file you want to generate.
